What is a VO2 Max Test?
A VO2 Max test is a maximal effort aerobic test measuring the maximal volume of oxygen your body can intake and utilize relative to your body mass.
Higher scores are correlated with better cardiopulmonary fitness and better athletic performance in aerobic events.
Better VO2 max scores are also correlated with decreased all cause mortality and decreased incidence of cardiovascular disease.
These tests are great for athletes of all backgrounds, as well as, individuals seeking maximize their longevity and have objective data to track.
What does a VO2 Max Test entail?
This is a 60 minute session from start to finish.
We will fit a face mask (like a fighter pilot) specifically to you and calibrate the VO2 Master analyzer.
We will select a type of exercise and test that is specific to your needs and goals (walk, run, bike, etc.)
We will perform a 5-10 minute warm up before the test starts.
The test will last somewhere between 8-15 minutes.
Following the test there will be a 5 minute cool down period.
After completion of the test, we will review the results with you and discuss findings and next steps.
